Some skin tightening is visible immediately and dermal remodelling results appear over time. Most patients gradually see results over the following two to three months. The exact time frame depends on the type and severity of the condition treated.

The longevity of the results depends on the skin issue being treated as well as the patient’s skincare habits. Generally, results last 1 to 2 years. We recommend annual maintenance treatments to extend results indefinitely.

Three treatments a month apart for most patients will provide the best results. We recommend a one-month gap between treatments to allow the skin to heal. A yearly maintenance treatment is required to maintain results. Keep in mind that this can vary based on the individual and the skin problem treated.

For example, patients with moderate acne scars usually need three or four treatments. However, patients with deeper acne scars typically require more treatment sessions. For skin brightening and rejuvenation, patients may see results after a single session, but full benefits are achieved with three treatments.

The treatment takes 45-90 minutes, not including the time to numb the area. The time required varies depending on the region treated.

Radiofrequency is a type of energy that generates heat. Sylfirm X emits heat from the insulated needle tips. This heat energy is delivered below the skin’s surface and stimulates collagen formation, resulting in tighter, younger-looking skin.

The Sylfirm X is virtually painless with little to no downtime. In our experience, other devices tend to be much more uncomfortable. This is one of the many reasons we love Sylfirm X. Also, we use a topical numbing cream before your treatment, so you remain comfortable. Many patients describe the treatment as a warm or tingling sensation and rate it a two or three out of ten on the pain scale.

The most common areas we treat are the face, neck, and decollete (upper chest). Less common sites include the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and knees. Sylfirm X is safe and gentle enough to use anywhere on the body.

Unlike other RF microneedling machines, the Sylfirm X is safe in the periorbital region. We use it to tighten and retract eyelid hoods, tighten and lift lax skin below the eye, smooth crow’s feet, fine lines and wrinkles, and enhance periorbital skin luminosity.

Most people experience zero to minimal downtime after the treatment. However, you may experience sensitivity, pinpoint bleeding, slight redness, and swelling right after your treatment which typically resolves in a day or two. Although rare, some patients experience swelling around the eyes, which resolves in a day or two.

Sylfirm X is an excellent treatment for managing acne scarring. One of the main causes of acne scarring is abnormal collagen adhesions that pull and taper the skin surface, resulting in a “pitted” appearance. Sylfirm X treatments are very effective at breaking up these collagen adhesions underneath pitted acne scars and effectively remodelling the scars by filling them in with new, healthy collagen. As a result, most patients see a dramatic reduction in the appearance of acne scars with a series of treatments.

The new collagen produced with each treatment lasts anywhere from two to five years. However, various factors, including diet, exercise, skincare, sun protection, number of treatments received, age, health, environmental factors, and areas treated, all influence the longevity of the treatment.

Sylfirm X is less painful and has minimal downtime compared to competing devices. Additionally, Sylfirm X is safe for the periorbital region (eyelids and under eyes).

It depends on the patient’s goals and what is treated. Not everyone is a candidate for laser and both technologies work differently. For example, laser treatments only address the top layers of the skin without reaching deep below the surface layers where pigmentation problems reside. On the other hand, Sylfirm X selectively targets areas of the skin that lasers cannot reach.

Sylfirm offers an effective way to treat and prevent melasma with minimal pain and downtime. Melasma is difficult to treat because it requires treating multiple layers of the skin for issues such as abnormal pigmentation, inflammation, abnormal blood vessels, and a weakened base layer of the epidermis. Sylfirm works well because it penetrates several layers of the skin, from the deepest to the most superficial, thus treating the underlying causes.

We recommend waiting two weeks after botox and filler to have a Sylfirm X treatment.

Sylfirm X is considered safe, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone.

You should avoid treatment if you recently or are currently using Accutane, have an active cold sore, have a skin infection, have a moderate to severe skin disease (like psoriasis), are receiving chemotherapy or radiation, have a defibrillator, have metal implants, have a pacemaker, are pregnant, are taking blood thinners, have a history of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, or poor wound healing.
